Most people agree that journalism has an important job to do, but what that job exactly is depends on whom you ask. Is it to hold the powerful to account? To "give voice to the voiceless"? To help people understand how to solve problems? To protect democracy? Reasonable people can disagree, but can reasonable people also re-imagine new ways to deliver those outcomes? This keynote will focus on emergent ideas, projects and possibilities that are just outside of most working journalists' horizons.
